James Naish

BSc(Hons), MRICS – Chartered Surveyor and Solicitor

James has been running the business as a combined Solicitor Estate Agency since early 2005.  He is dual qualified as both a Chartered Surveyor and Solicitor, and has more than a decade of experience working in the property industry.  Prior to taking over the family business, he worked as a property lawyer at DLA Piper, one of the largest law firms in the world.  James has considerable experience in agency, development, landlord and tenant, valuation and property management.  Much of his expertise spans both residential and commercial property.

Likes - Skiing, snowboarding, watching sports, gardening.

Doesn’t like - pineapple.

Favourite Tipple – Pint of beer.

J. Nigel Naish

FRICS – Chartered Surveyor

Nigel is probably York’s most experienced residential Chartered Surveyor, having worked in estate agency for almost 50 years!   Often and quite correctly referred to an “York’s most honest Estate Agent”, he is highly rated amongst fellow professionals for his vast experience and integrity.  Nigel originally qualified as an auctioneer and spent the early part of his career at Jackson Stops & Staff, before taking up a partnership at Robinson & Morton in the mid 1970’s.  Since then, the business has changed its name a few times, ultimately becoming Naish Estate Agents & Solicitors in 2005, when his son James stepped up to the helm.  Nigel specialises in residential agency, valuation and development.

Likes – Skiing, gardening, walking the dog.

Gets annoyed with – Middle lane hoggers.

Favourite Tipple – A glass of red wine.

Harriet Naish

BSc Hons Estate Management;

Valuer and Head of Sales

Harriet finally agreed to join the family business in 2011 after years of unsubtle hints from James and Nigel.  She is an experienced valuer  with 15 years or so under her belt and has worked in and run individual branches of several corporate estate agents. She is James’s cousin in case anyone was wondering, but chooses to use her fantastic maiden name at work.

Partial to – Nice cars.

Can’t abide – a lack of punctuality.

Favourite Tipple – A glass of sauvignon blanc.

Simone Foulds

Office Manager

Simone keeps everybody else in the office in line!  She looks after the rental and management side of the business, at the same time as providing valuable back-up for the sales negotiators.  Simone is also personal assistant to James and Nigel.

Enjoys – a good party, hot holidays.

Avoids – mushrooms

Favourite Tipple – Half of lager and lime.

Sarah Leather

Sales Negotiator

Sarah has been with us for several years and so has considerable experience as a sales negotiator.  She is front of house, first port of call and one of the people managing and dealing with sellers, buyers and viewers on a daily basis.

Loves - expensive handbags.

Dislikes – Ants

Greg Broadway

Sales Negotiator

Greg is the newest member of our team so far and comes from a background of corporate estate agency, so he’s friendly, smart and presentable. That’s just as well because he deals with the sellers, the buyers, the viewers and anyone else that calls or comes through the door.

Loves - fast cars and rugger.

Won’t go near – salad

Favourite Tipple - Pint of bitter.
